The Victorian Slipper Chair

This exquisite Victorian slipper chair just exudes elegance and refinement. Named after their use, Victorian ladies with voluminous skirts would sit in a slipper chair while a maid slipped on their shoes. As such these chairs were most often found in ladies’ bedchambers.

As much as possible of the original springs and stuffing will be retained in refurbishing this chair using traditional techniques. I have selected a 100% linen fabric by Vanessa Arbuthnott as the top fabric. With a delicate daisy pattern in a soft ochre, the fabric will enhance the delicacy and femininity of the chair.
